Hi Fee and Kev,
Hope that you're keeping well. I was overwhelmed when I read the TAG update yesterday about all the hard work that you've done and the future plans for the Marc Bolan tree.
I just wanted to send a donation, if only towards the bark chippings at this time of the year.
I've just sent it by Paypal and hope that you receive it ok.
Love,
Barbara xx.

Dear Fee, I am amazed at the great work you do on TAG. As Marc was always special to me from Wembley arena at 12 years old via Brixton rainbow Xmas gig Chatham central hal(futuristic Dragon ) l to the Dandy in the underworld at frinsbury park rainbow , and Mortens on the fateful night.

Marc was my hero and helped me move from a skinhead into a corkscrew haired freethinker burning incense and reading Moorcock Tolkien and many other great books while eating only vegetarian food ?!! in other words he took me to another world where I did not have to hide my feminine side and found acceptance from lovers and friends male/female,

What in a long winded way I am saying is Marc did so much for our generation and those that followed more so than Bowie who I liked but Marc I loved and thank the Goddess for his all too brief life.

I would love to contribute a little for all that Marc gave to us all,

Blessings
Colin

Hi Fee

My apologies with getting back to you so late after the plaques were installed. Let me say they are magnificent!! 8-) The plaques turned out even better than I had anticipated and my anticipations were fairly high. Here's a big hardy hug and pat on the back from me for all of your effort and hard work. Let's hope that everyone who visits "the tree" respects the property as it should be.

There's one question I have for you regarding the plaques. I noticed in one photo showing the plaques on the steps that there are five plaques on the first step. Who's plaque is located on the far right off by it'self?

Best Wishes Always

Emily

Dear Fee

Heartfelt thanks for sending the framed memorial plaques to Mum and me. We both appreciate your kindness and it means so much to us both that Steve has not been forgotten.

Pleased to hear how well the day went for everyone, we were both thinking of you all.

Again many thanks, Linda and Joyce

Hi Fee,

It was nice meeting you and Kev at the tree on the 15th (unless you met any other guys from Northern Ireland in garish yellow coats that day I think you'll know who this is). Anyway I just wanted to say it was nice chatting to you and to assure you that any filming I did of the plaques being fitted was for a personal reminder of the momentous event and not for any future 'how to remove plaques' instruction videos, any sick person going to the tree with such plans in mind will not be going there armed with any information from me.
Tanx for making my visit to the tree extra memorable.

Laser Love,
William.

I enjoy the web site very much and visited the tree site last year. Nice to see all the tributes - found it very touching.

I agree about the graffiti, the site is more dignified without it.

Hi,

It's been a pleasure to support your cause via e bay and I'm sorry to see that you have nothing for sale at the moment, I love my vids, especially when I see footage of the plectrum I left at the tree the other year. I also appreciate the freebies that were thrown in. As for the plaques, will they be in place before Sep 16? Due to work commitments I have to head up to Scotland that day:-( but will be visiting the tree sometime between 12th and 15th. I'd booked my ticket on the day the bombs hit, and I've never considered not going even for a second, Marc's music has given me a lot of pleasure and when I'm down in London I go to the tree (and the crem) to pay my respects. Long live the tree and the T.A.G

Laser Love,

William in Northern Ireland.

Dear Fee and Kev,

We want to thank you for all the time and hard work you and all TAG members have donated to the tree site over the years. We read about your recent visit to the site and all the work you did to clean the site of graffiti.

We find it hard to understand how anyone could be so selfish and thoughtless as to vandalize a memorial which has obviously been so respectfully cared for. If the graffitti makers really love Marc, they should put a lot more thought and creativity into their tributes to him; And they should know that the tree site is a place where many people visit and reflect, including members of Marc's family.

Hello Fee,

Thank you very much for your nice email. It´s great to talk to you. :-)

My pleasure, it´s so great June will also have a plaque.

I wrote an email a few weeks ago, & now I know many others had the same idea.
That´s wonderful.

Yes I wanna come back to London in september.

Your site looks really great. I started reading the news & watching some Videos. Everything looks cool. :-)

I can imagine, must be a lot of work to keep the tree site clean & pretty. I wish I could be there more often & do anything useful.

Hello Fiona,

I saw your report about your meeting with June in late 1978 & it was very touching for me.

I would like to talk with you about Marc´s parents & June & hope you´ll write back. There are not many people around who met them. June was very special & I´m sure she was an important part of Marc´s life. I´m still sad I couldn´t manage it to meet June personally. I always wanted to come to London, but I was too young that time.

Hi Fee

I just saw the Elton John "Children of the Revolution" video from Live 8 on your site.

Both my hubby & I have enjoyed Sir Elton since way back in the 70's. But let's be honest he doesn't have the most wonderful voice in his later years, but at least he can sing on key. He made a grand effort. But what the hell was wrong with the other guy? Is is Babyshambles? More like what a shambles!! He sings flat & off key & looked like he had a few too many at the pub!

Marc deserves better than that, don't you think?

Thanks for including it on your site though. It was nice to see that Sir Elton is remembering Marc.

All the best
Emily

hey fee,

i was just checkin out random sites to see what other people had to say about marc, your really caught my eye.

i love marc bolan & all his work, his words are amazing & his songs blow my mind, ever since my friend got me into then i dropped everything else (except for the occasional The Doors) & i only listen to t. rex.

i listen to alot of thier older stuff too, tyrannasaurus rex, his words speak to me like no other, he had a gift, he had such a spiritual mind.

Hi

I have made a donation via paypal.

You have so much info on Marc & the band – for me, it’s just such a wonderful place to visit.

I contacted you some years ago after reading that June had died, & you kindly told me the circumstances as I was totally unaware that she was no longer with us. I have now just read that Dino Dines is also no longer with us, & of course we lost Mickey Finn a couple of years ago too. It’s all very sad & it’s so nice to be able to log on & read & remember them all.

Thanks for all your work.

Hi Fee

Thanks for your email. I think tomorrow, I will put a bit of it on my website. (Everyday I put one exchange just to keep things moving on a regular basis - & then I write one proper piece a week too).

Re David's essay [on the TAG Site] - it was a pleasure to provide the link. It's a way better than average exploration of Marc, his career & his character.

All the best

Dear Fee & TAG,

I just wanted to thank you for putting together the great dvds & cd about marc.

i loved the t.rex videos since we never saw them here......

i especially enjoyed seeing the memorial site at the tree, & i am thrilled i could donate to such a worthy cause.

Here in the U.S.A. we really didn't know the details of his death. Many people here think he died of a drug overdose, but it has become my mission to set them straight!!

I was devastated as a young teen when I heard the news as I was SO in love with marc & his music. & still am after all these years. i am finding more & more people here who still love the music of t.rex. thanks so much for keeping his memory alive.
this is an AMAZING website you have..
keep up the good work!!

Hello,

I have just found your website & I must complement you.

The article that Fee wrote about meeting June was lovely to read. I am June's daughter Ilona.
I would like to get in contact with Fee. Could you help???

Kind Regards

Ilona

Sent: Thursday, June 30, 2005

Hi Fee,

Thank you for your reply.

I really wanted to complement you on the "meeting June" article. I it so lovely to read & you described her so well.

Your thought of a plaque I think would be fantastic. I strongly believe that Mark wouldn't have been Mark without her & she does deserve recognition.

I have only driven passed the tree, never stopped. My Grandfather used to take me riding at Richmond Park when I was little & would always point it out.

You must know so much about the legacy of Mum & Mark. I'm hoping you can fill in the gaps for me.

Kind Regards

Ilona

Hi Fee,

It's Tony Visconti.

Don't you think I deserve a lifelong membership?

I'd love to see the clip of Rolan & me on Jools' show but I can't.

How are you?

Isn't it great news how well the DVD is doing all over the world? It entered the charts in the USA at #16.

Best,

Tony

Hi Fee,

I'll send you one of my four copies of the DVD.

Tell me where to send it.

I'll certainly speak to you about Tookie's biography. I didn't know him for very long, but I'll tell you what I can remember.

Thank you for the membership.

I have both TAG videos & I love them both. My favorite is the double DVD with all the interviews & festivities. Wish I could have been there. I also have the Inside T.Rex which you are a part of. Loved that one too.

Being from America it is hard to get much news about Marc, the only songs they play on the radio is "Get it On" & maybe "Jeepster".

My first taste of Marc's music was Unicorn because my friend's sister had all kinds of records & we used to listen to them, & that was one of the albums we always played. Matter of fact when I first heard "Get it" on I did not realize that was the same person until my friend pointed it out.

I still remember the day Marc died I had just turned 21 (Born September 6, 1956), I was working at a Jewelry factory & the news came on that Marc Bolan Died. I was in shock for many days after that. I was hoping he would have played again in the US & I would finally get to see in concert.

Regards,

Ken

Dear Fee

I hope you're well & enjoying life.

I don't think I ever got round to letting you know how impressed Gloria was with the job you've made at the tree site?

I was there with her with Granada TV last year & she was very moved by the whole experience, as I am sure you would expect.

How different it would have been just a few years ago...

I hope to hear from you some time soon.

Hallo Fee,

I am Vanessa & I am a big Marc Bolan fan too.

All the best from me & Papa (Werner)

Hi there,

Firstly, great website & absolutely amazing effort that you've put into the 'tree' area, I'm hoping to go there within the next few weeks, never been before, travelling from Kent on the train so hopefully I'll find the area, & send you guys a photo for your excellent website.

Anyway, I'll be visiting the website on a regular basis, I'm a huge Bolan fan, so keep up the good work.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Regards
Neil, Kent

CLICK THIS PIC TO VIEW A VERSION 800x1087 pixels - 252 kb IN IT'S OWN WINDOW I've only ever been a member of the Denis the Menace Fan Club.
But I've been a Bolan fan since about 1972 when my sister was a fanatic.
We were lucky enough to live in Clarendon Gardens in Maida Vale where the great man lived for a time. I was very young & didn't become a fanatic myself until about 1982 when I first heard 'My People Were Fair...'.

I visited the tree for the first time in about 1983 when it was just a tree with a few yellow ribbons.I Live in East Anglia now where there is a thriving Folk Music Scene that I have recently discovered.

This encouraged me to re-explore the Tyrannosaurus material & I intend to treat some East Anglia Folk clubs to my interpetation of 'Seal Of Seasons' in the near future. My recent re-discovery of the great mans music made me want to visit the tree once more. But I could not remember where in Barnes Common it was.

I looked on the net & found a sight but could not find the address of the memorial garden & statue (that I had heard about on the radio) & you didn't seem to have any good photos on the sight.

So I ventured out with my trusty camera & re-visited the tree only to find a stunningly beautiful memorial garden that brought a tear to my eye. I took some photos with the intention of sending them, to what I thought was, an visually under-nourished web sight.

When I had the photos printed I returned to the web site to find an e-mail address to send them to & then I found an abundance of pictures. But if you feel that you would like to use any of my pictures I'd feel it a privilege to be credited on the great mans web site.

Thank you for saving the tree & all the dedication, hard work & money it has taken over the years to create & maintain a memorial & memory of one of the most beautiful (visually & spiritually) to ever grace our planet.

Keep up the good work for Future Children of Rarn

Dear People ,
Just a few words to say what an excellent web site you have.I was blown away with all the comprehensive detail regarding Marc & his people. This site is so thought-provoking.I spent a good hour or so reading so much interesting stuff.

It was a shame that the bit where Harry talks to the reporter is partly obscured by traffic noise ; you had to try & lip-read a little bit! But truly I was touched by the sheer quality of your site .

Keep up the excellent work.
I intend to visit regularly.
Thanks
Stephen.

Fee
I have just been reading your message on the TAG site & I am really sorry that you have had to leave the Bolan scene. I have been a fan since 1970 - only saw him once, when he wasn't at his best in 1974 - but it was still great. I have never been to any of the conventions or the like, but have always kept an eye on what was going on on the internet & what releases were available - & not a week goes by without Marc being played on my hi-fi. My interest was also renewed by a friend of mine who sings - Chris Braide - he is only 27 but has loved Bolan for years & very often performs a Bolan number when he tours (just supported Glen Tilbrook on tour & played Keboards for Squeeze on their last tour).
you have done a marvellous job with the site & all the work you have done in keeping Marc Bolans name alive. I don't understand the yobbish mentality of those who want to destroy all this good work.
I wish you well for the future & thank you for providing such an excellent site.
Thanks again
Roy Thompson

Dear Fee,
I am also sorry that you are leaving the Bolan 'scene'. Mind you, the only person who matters will have seen the efforts you have put into maintaining the tree/memorial site & I'm sure he would be proud to think that folks such as you are still devoted to him all these years after he died.
